BetAmerica Sportsbook gets back on track after facing a targeted cyber attack

In a recent statement published for its customers, BetAmerica has told its customers that they are confirmed by SBTech about no loss or compromise of customers’ data so they are resuming all the operations at normal.

Cyber-Attack against SBTech.

After the difficult last three weeks, BetAmerica sportsbook is back online with all its usual features.  BetAmerica’s sports betting platform is SBTech which was hit by a cyber-attack causing the sportsbook to shut down all of its operations.  Churchill Downs Inc. is a U.S casino, which owns BetAmerica Sportsbook.  They informed their users that they would be back online again to provide all of its services. It is important to mention here that SBTech is a sports gaming and betting platform, which is powering the services provided by BetAmerica. SBTech got in trouble in March when they were able to identify that a cyber-attack has been launched against them. This cyber-attack that happened to BetAmerica sportsbook was a ransomware attack.  It means that they can’t access their own data.  This forced them to shut down their data centers in different parts of the world.

No loss or compromise of customers’ data.

Meanwhile, over 50 betting companies had their operations temporarily paralyzed.  It was not safe enough to continue with the process. The company started to investigate the issue to know how much damage has been done by this cyber-attack. The company has not shared exact information with media regarding this cyber-attack and any losses, which they faced. However, they did tell that data of the bettors have not been compromised in any manner, which is a sigh of relief for all bettors associated with SBTech.

Some of the betting companies were able to get back online after one week of the attack. BetAmerica sportsbook cyber-attack froze the operations momentarily and had to wait to get back on track.  They were not able to do so until confirmation from SBTech. BetAmerica has told its customers in a recent statement, assuring no loss or compromise of customers’ data had occurred. today, they are resuming all the operations back to normal.  These unfortunate attacks continue to happen to gaming operators.  Somehow sportsbooks and online casinos prevail over these setbacks.
